Fun Fest
Fun Fest is October 24 at Sooner Mall from 10-2. With the size of our group, I think we should plan to have 2 activities for our club Make & Take display. Last year we made flower pens, which was very successful. I would like to do the flower pens again- I picked up a bunch of pens during back-to-school sales. I have a fuzzy pencil idea we could use, but I encourage everyone to think of possibilities. We need inexpensive, simple projects that members could do with young children. I will send out a request for t-shirt sizes next month.
Members can also enter decorated pumpkins. See your yearbook for details.
Share the Fun
Share the Fun will be November 10 at the St. Joseph Family Life Center. That is our usual meeting night, so we will need to meet a different evening. I would like to have 2 Share the Fun group entries- 7th grade and older are considered senior, 6th grade and younger are junior. If our seniors place first, they will move on to the district competition in January. We may also have up to 3 individual entries- please contact me if you are interested.
September Meeting
Thursday, September 17 at 7pm in the classroom. We will be seeing a performance by another 4-H group.
Cleveland County Fair
Your fair entries are due September 9 from 3-9pm. You can pick up a fair book at the Fair office or download it from this link: http://www.clevelandcountyfair.org/Premium%20Guide%202009.htm The exhibits are judged on September 10. We have to have our club booth set up by 5pm September 10th. Addie Jackson and Jessica Morrow and their mothers have agreed to lead this process, but they will need some help. Please let me know if you are able to help them. I will have signs made with our new club name to include in our display.
Awards Banquet
The Cleveland County Awards Banquet is August 27 at the St Joseph Family Life Center. If you are receiving an award, you should have received tickets in the mail- please RSVP to Susan Farrow at the Extension Office. On-Track Planning
Tuesday June 9th was on track planning for Cleveland County. Minuets from the meeting are coming in the June CPJ Newsletter.
First Meeting of 2009-2010 4-H Year
Tuesday August 11th was our first meeting for the 2009-2010 4-H year. In this meeting we elected new officers and talked about our basket for the silent action for the Awards Banquet in mid-September.
